Default Rear window defroster

is it me or has anyone else noticed it seems like the rear window defroster is totally useless. my back window has has had frost on it the last few mornings and after a half hour drive to work with the rear defrosted on it looks the same as when i left for work. led on the switch comes on but that seems to be the extent of the rear window defrost option. anyone else notice this ?

Im not sure if you have the rear slider window or not but are trucks do not have rear window defrost the defrost indicator on the heater control knob is for the heated mirrors

Sure it's frost?

And not fogged up or dewey?

I have been driving trucks for over 40 years and I can count on one hand the amount of times the rear window frosted up.

Mostly it's windows that lean back some. Like windshields.
Most times a vertical window will not get frosty. Maybe the edges if it gets real cold.

But Fog or Dew is a real problem and on plow truck I have mounted a small 12 Volt fan back there to keep things clear when I plow.

Luck to Ya

I was going to ask you if Dodge came out with a new fandangled way of not having the horizontal black lines needed for a rear window defroster. I thought for sure the button you were referring to was for the heated mirrors. My last truck (Toyota Tundra) had a rear window defroster, it came in handy in melting snow that kicks up on the back window from driving. I'll sacrifice that feature for a ton more stability in the winter.
