Default Truck dont run rite "NEED HELP"

Ok i just got this truck, is an 88 ram with 318, first year injection. The engine was redone by the last owner, its a stock rebuild but the cat was removed aswell as most all the emissions stuff and the factory air cleaner was replaced with a cheap chrome unit. The problem is it does not run for shit, has absolutly no power and spits and sputers at times and doesnt wantr to idle.. To me it looks like a sencer in the fender for the injection is not hooked up, causing it to run like it does. I remember i had an 88 dakota with a 3.9 and when i took the factory air cleaner and tube off and added a chrome setup it did the same thing.. How can i make it run rite, i need help mopar guys... Thanks

Somebody will help you with this who has more knowledge than I do. I personally would say it's a sensor aswell IAT or MAF.

You have several checks that need to be done . Check and see if it has any trouble codes . Sounds to me your probably gonna have a hand full of them . May have probably been false set . Some may be there forever , not knowing what all emissions equipment has been removed .You may end up having to clear them and start fresh . You can also check fuel pressure and base timing and also compression test . These kind of problems aren't the easiest to diagnose over the net . Check over the tune and filters , make sure everything looks ok . Depending on whats been done , you might be better off putting a carb and electronic ignition conversion kit on it and then all problems should go away . Let me know how you make out and if there is anything else I can help you with . Just noticed you haven't been to the newbie section and introduced yourself . Do that and let me know how you make out . Talk to ya soon . Tom
