Default Sliding rear window vs fixed window w/ defroster

Hi all,

Newbie here just joined today. Great forum.
The lease on my Nitro is coming to an end and I'm seriously looking at a 2010 Ram Laramie.
I really like the idea of having the rear sliding window but am concerned about the lack of rear defroster. I know you can order the truck with a non sliding rear window with defroster. I'm concerned about snow buildup and with it fogging up.
I thought that with passengers in the back with their heads so close to the window, I'm sure to get fogged windows. Is there a vent near the sliding window? Could I hear opinions from owners with and without defrosters?
Am I worried about nothing?
thanks.

Hello and welcome to RamForumZ, since I see this is your first post! So going to the RAM, nice choice! I don't have an answer to your question, as both of my Dodge's have been regular cabs, one with sliding glass and this one without, but hopefully someone here will chime in soon with some good advice for you, so good luck and I hope you enjoy the board! BTW, be sure to introduce yourself in the Newbie Section so everyone can join in welcoming you!

My '01 ram quad cab has the rear slider and I haven't had a problem with it fogging up . You should be running your windshield defroster anyway if your windows start to fog . Thats always done it for me . Never had a problem with that . Don't forget to stop by the newbie section and introduce yourself .

I've had an extended cab and a quad cab, one with the sliding window, and one without. I never have had a serious problem with fogging up with either of them, but I also keep my heater on the window defrost year-round.

I have a rear slider with no defroster back there and when it starts to fog (it usually starts at the top) I just turn on the front defroster and no problem...it clears up pretty quickly. It never totally fogs up back there.

I have a 2002 Ram QC with the rear sliding glass. Never had any issue, even with passengers. The heat is usually blowing, and it keeps all the windows pretty fog-free. I would seriously consider heated mirrors however. Off the subject, but I have them for the first time, and they are great!! Excellent choice on truck also BTW! Post pics when you take delivery!
