What they will do is overfuel your engine by telling the computer that the intake air is very cold and you'll run rich all the time. I'd forget about that chip and look for an integrated programmer for your application. Your truck will run a lot better and the fuel mileage will be MUCH better with a good programmer compared to this chip.

I'd go with a system chip too. You'll end up with better MPG and a whole slew of goodies rather than 'tricking' your engine into doing what it shouldn't.

Default chip

I purchased a chip back in early summer that attaches to your wiring on your cold air intake. well lets put this way i might as well donated the 50 bucks to a bumb no worky, no diffy. white lighting i dont think so. just be aware, do some extra research .this forum would be awsome for that. trial and error and getting some good advice is always good. Good luck, let me know if you find something good.

I have a 2004 1500 5.7 hemi 4x4. (wew) Do any of you have a recommendation for a programmer? Something for power, economy that may also adjust the shift points?

Regards,
Dan

Sure do!! You can adjust the shift points yourself..(Not reccomended unless you know what your doing) But just uploading the tune that comes with it should net you a mpg or two:

Diablo Predator tuner

Diablo Trinity Tuner

It comes loaded from the factory with a bunch of preset tunes (based on fuel grade) that you just upload it and your ready to rock. The Trinity is cool beacuse it can do a whole lot more and has that nifty display. there a little in depth description for each on on those links.

Well I guess i got some answers, this place rocks!!, i have the 09 with 5.7 hemi i have been leaning towards the predator, but the trinity looks like it has more stuff i can play with, (don't tell the wife but i want it) the discription on the links don't show it is for the 09 ram 5.7. the predator also only shows up to 08. are these available for the 09 ram 5.7? if so any part #'s to referance?

The predator is the most highly tunable for the HEMI, and it's put some good boost to mine. It will be availiable for the '09 within the month if it isn't out with limited tunes already.
