Default Maybe I'll hold off too

Would hate to have the brakes lock up randomly.

Too bad because the parts are cheap right now.

Thanks for the feeback!

Continental is the manfacturer of the factory controller.

I said that is nice chrysler knows i have a controller but I would rather my truck know it. Needless to say they pulled it back in and did the job. The screen and controller work great and i love it! Thanks to all of you that posted the info on here if it was not for you guys they would not have known what to do. Glad i printed off the info and took it with me. Special thanks to Sigi who sold me the controller.
Just wonder if your braking system work well and if you had a chance to tow anything heavy after all these mods.
There are some voices that it may cause brakes locking up. Do you have any update on yours?

The dealer makes a factory controler for $148. Then you also get the new molding peice for it as well. You can use it that way and the can reprogram the EVIC for you to if you want. Mine did this for free cause I got in good with my service guy(and he was programing my new OEM remote start -very cool it comes with 2 new keys so now I have 4 keys for when I brake one). dirtrider, I have towed heavy with it and love it. the rear end needs some support but thats another thread.... I like the way it is a progressive controller meaning the brakes come on gradually as you are coming to a stop. If you jam the pedal they will come on quicker. I have never had a issue with the brakes engaging when i didnt want them too. Have had no issues with it and also love the way it looks in the truck too

Thanks,
I like the way it is integrated and price is about the same as aftermarket one.
I just need to find a dealer in my area that will do it. I just bought the truck 2 weeks ago. I think it was built in late April or May of this year, so hopefully that shouldn't be a problem.

I called a few places locally and the dealer's answer was that there are some configuration problems that Chrysler is working out and that they will come up with a kit around Fall this year (?!).

That sounds like a dealer excuse. Call Around it really is not difficult they just need to be will to try it. a few pages back in this thread i believe a poster cormacs posted the codes and instructions. I printed this out and took it to the dealer with me. It was hard for them to argue when i had the directions with me. Hope someone will help you it really is a nice addition to the trucks.

Well, it's August now and I still can't find a dealer that will install the integraded brakes on my 2010 Ram - they all refuse to do this.

Why don't you install it yourself? If you have the two open plugs under the dash, then it is about a 15 minute job. The only thing you would need from the dealer is to flash the truck so it shows in the EVIC. Otherwise, it will still work as a regular brake controller.

If you don't have both open plugs, then you could go the route I had to and use a third party brake controller. BUT, there are some people smarter than me that have made the OEM controller work in a single plug system by running the extra wires.

Wobly,
Thanks for motivating me. I will call the dealer and order the controller and the plastic trim, what the heck...
In worst case, if I can't find a dealer to flash the truck it should work just like an aftermarket one without EVIC display. Then, hopefully some day they will sort things out and be able to fully integrate it.
