Yup it's the driver thats the problem and the Ford guy has an auto tranny that saves them shifting.

Look at that website. It's a ford website and never gives raw facts that would put the Ram in a positive spotlight. It is the fastest, quickest, and best sport truck of its class. The lightning is 400+ pounds lighter, but I still prefer the looks and performance of the ram.

To be honest, the lightning is a force to be reckoned with. The only truck I have SEEN beat it is the early 90's GMC Syclone (My dream truck) 4.3L V6 turbo... 0-60 in the mid 4 second range. Plus 4wd.

i didnt think that about 427lbs would make a difference when you got 120 more hp, and about 75 mor lb/ft of torque....and yeah there are plenty of SRT10s out there that would destroy a lightning, but I am on the stock vs stock....anybody can buy a car or truck and spend a few grand to make it faster....

^^^ I agree. But I am still not convinced a stock SRT10 will lose to a stock Lightning. And I agree with Alex, the Lightning is no joke. But still... more power, a better suspension, and a manual transmission... still sounds like it comes down to the driver to me.

They are conceding that the SRT-10 is faster and quicker, but just slightly. They are saying is that extra 0.2 sec or the extra 1 mph in the 1/4 worth the $12,000 and worse fuel economy. If money is no object than of course the SRT-10 is the best option, faster, quicker, and more power. So stock for stock (according to car & driver's numbers) the SRT-10 is faster, but that doesn't make it a better sport truck.

Yes it took a SC to make the lightening fast, but it took a viper engine (with an extra 120 hp over the ford) to make the Ram fast.

Sorry guys, but if i was going to buy a sport truck, i'd probably go with the lightening, and use that extra $12,000 and throw it in the engine, and be that much ahead of the SRT-10. And before I get flamed, I do love the SRT-10 still.

I'll be honest... I would take a regular cab HEMI truck, drop that 12,000 on a 426 stroker and massage it in there. 600hp baby...

Well that'd be another way to go also, but I was looking more at those two trucks only.

I dont know if I would agree with the viper engine making the ram fast....the ram hemi is already fast for its type of truck, and if you throw FI on it, its even faster....of course because its lighter though....The SRT10 Ram is a whole different truck, that is used for racing, so it would be stupid for dodge not to use the viper motor, but IMO they should have used FI on it because a truck is so much heavier than the Viper itself...And then, it would be a killer...
