I wasn't too sure what to do, like call the cops and have them run a #'s check and stuff, see if he had receipts. etc.

I got in the truck... shook my head... and was thankful to have a big ass engine sitting in front of me Lol.

Don't worry, Alex, chances are their parents bought those, whereas YOU bought yours and thus appreciate it more, but if those kids are like the ones I went to high school with, the vehicles they're driving now won't last the school year 'cause they'll probably end up wrecked (is there a ticket for showing off a vehicle but not knowing how to drive it???), but their parents will have bought little Johnnie/Jane another one! That's the kind of rich kids I went to school with, but I still loved going to school in mom's old Dodge Aspen!!!

Yeah it basically is like that, stuck up kids.

The truck I had before this was an old truck of my dad's a 1998 s10. Its been to hell and back, side swiped by a semi while my dad was driving, and rear ended twice while I was driving, and lastly met its demise one sunny day...

I was just leaving safeway getting on to Sr 516, there is 5 lanes, a right turn only lane (turns into safeway) a lane that goes straight, a turn lane, and 2 opposite direction lanes. I have to take a left, and I wait for an opening. when there was an opening , I begin to go, figuring the lady in the right turn only was going right! Turns out she merged her ass into the lane that goes straight. Both cars got totalled. It's kinda blurry all I remember was like moaning and wondering (why am I moaning lol) I couldn't control it.

Turns out it's my fault for pulling out, regardless if she was in the right turn only lane.

I only had liability insurance, so she's set for a new vehicle for free, but I on the other hand was screwed. Can you blame me for not having full coverage at my age, I can't afford it at all.

My source to money was some insurance money from the rearenders, and lastly my money that I have earned over the years from playing shows. It sucked to watch it go down the drain but damn I LOVE the truck!

I lucked out from this point, joined a new uprising band, play atleast 2 shows a month earning a good amount per night for being 17, and I have been able to buy various mods for it.

so overall, considering the circumstances, I am quite happy with knowing that I had bought it myself. Frusturated still that my first truck is gone, considering I installed and bought every part myself. I was saying earlier that even though it was a P.O.S, I valued it like it was a million dollar super car.

Some kids take things for granted, and I can't stand it.

Wow, that's a heckuva story, sucks to hear about your other truck. Just sucks that those who do/try to do the right thing usually get stiffed. I hear you on the insurance, tho, I only carried liability on everything until I bought my Jeep, and for two reasons, it was the newest, shiniest thing in the driveway, but I had to finance it. The others I bought outright, so I didn't have a lien. Didn't worry about full coverage on the '81 beast 'cause if anyone hit me, well, THEIR vehicle would would probably have met an unhappy end, but in the case of my Jeep, decided to keep it even after paying it off, 'cause, there again, still the shiniest thing in the driveway, lol!

Bottom line is, kudos to ya' for not only wanting to work hard, but actually doing it, and getting paid for something you love to do, well as long as you're doing that you'll never be broke! Those other kids'll never get it, lol, but you still got a SekZ truck, no matter what happens to them!

Haha yeah it was a pretty long ass story!

Car insurance is nuts, lol. And now that I have an accident under my belt, I can't wait to see how the rates will be... I might as well cancel and take the damn bus! Free, more cash to build up Lol.

I bet that 81' was made of solid steel! no plastic to be found!

Thanks for that, It means a lot to hear that from somebody for once!

So that must've happened in the last three years for it to still be on your insurance? Geez, it's almost like having bad credit, lol, that monster never seems to get out from under the bed, either, lol!

I have pictures of the old beast, but they're not in a digital format. I gotta scan them all in and junk like that, which I eventually will get around to, but the only plastic on there was the wire nuts for all the splicing someone did, lol, but no, solid bumpers, chrome on the front/diamond plate on the back and solid steel! Miss being able to sit under the hood and work on it, even in the rain!

BTW, you're welcome, kudos deserved.

Yeah, it sucks! It was kind of fate though, my friend locked her keys in her car, and asked me to come drive her out to her house to grab the spare set, well when we got back, I dropped her off and then 5 seconds later, It happened. She to this day is completely convinced it's her fault that it happened, I feel HORRIBLE. I've told her that it was my error for going even though I should have waited for her to turn, but she just doesn't believe me.

Well you'll have to directly send me those pictures! There is so many people posting pictures now, it's hard to keep up! That would be so nice to sit under the vehicle lol, disadvantage to a lowered truck I guess. When I change the oil, I have to drive it up on these 2 steel ramps we have, and of which I scrape EVERY TIME and it almost makes me want to take it on down to a Jiffy Lube to stop scratching the underside Lol.

I know what you mean, something like that happens, by circumstance, and the person whose idea it was always feels like they are at fault, which sucks, 'cause it was, purely circumstantial. That's the crazy part.

No, by sitting under my truck, I meant, I could raise the hood, climb up and sit on the fender. That was how I got the master cylinder done, haha, just got tired of leaning over the side, and it sure made tune-ups a whole lot easier! I could only wish my truck had been that high, lol, monster truck race here we come!

Yeah, I will have to get some pics together (still waiting on my dad to come up off the one of the '72 'vette. He says he still has it.) and get 'em on here. Working on that, lol!
