Default Honest opinion

I am wanting everyone's honest opinion. I have an 08 Ram v6 that I have done some upgrades to. I havn't quite decided which direction I am wanting to go. I have the itch to make it an SRT-6. I know there is no such thing for a ram 1500 and yes I plan to do a mass performance upgrade ex: brakes suspension, engine, tranny. But would I look like a "poser?" I even considered R/T. But I know they are coming out with an R/T Ram soon if they havn't already introduced it. Just wanting everyone's opinion on if I went ahead and did the mass performance upgrades and stuck the SRT-6 emblem on if it would be retarded.

Thanks

SRT is designed by a team of engineers. Putting that label on your truck would be completely invalid. The '6' refers to a v6. No matter what you do to the 3.7, you will be lacking the power of a base 5.7

So it is up to you, but it would be cheaper to sell the truck and get a v8. But a big no to the SRT6.

Note there was a cross fire SRT-6. I say go and do it! Mod the hell out of it and proudly give it the name. Dare to be different man!

i dont think it would be worth it price wise to try and make it get power that an srt model would have stock...even if there were such a thing as an srt6....you could always drop in an srt10

Oh I know there is no way to put as much power in a V6 as there is in the V10 without blowing yourself and the engine up. I am just wanting to do something different. I've seen the SRT-6 crossfire and I have seen pictures of an SRT-6 Ram 3500 but I didn't know if that was something Dodge put out or if it is just something the guy did. I appreciate all the advice keep it coming. I would drop a whole new engine in it but. Honestly I like the challenge here

LMAO yeah Dodge took that idea and look at its success!

I used to get this when I had a 2.2 S10, It was gutless. But I kept on working on it and valuing it as if it were a million dollar supercar. I'd add on new parts when I can, even though I was probably making 150-160hp up from 117 stock, I was satisfied!

I believe you should mod it! The 3.7 has been around for ages, 210hp is a start! Double what my old truck had basically! Swap out your muffler, get a chip, and a CAI to start. You can build your own Cold Air intake. (See Wermbang's DIY on how to do it)

People would typically make fun of you, but once you do this, you could do various things such as headers and or cutouts (i havent looked online for them, but im sure there is some around, or you could get them custom fabricated like I did)

With a free flowing intake and exhaust, you should expect a lot more torque and top end. Get the tuner/chip last, and this will go PERFECTLY with these mods.

Look into a bigger intake manifold aswell, if they don't make one for your engine, you can sometimes take the manifolds off of other vehicles and bolt it on up.

After all of these bolt-ons go for Internals, cams, heads, etc.

Maybe a little N20? Hmm?

Im sure you could push 300hp at the crank for sure. Just work at it! The 3.7 is what you got, the 3.7 is what you'll work with! Just have fun with it.

As far as what you saw, the 3500 comes as an I6 turbo diesel. It was something that he did putting the badge on there. Still reppin the 6 cylinders Lol.

Yeah my company truck is an 05 I6 turbo. Things got balls that's for sure. I was just wondering because I havn't seen any parts for it at all. So I figured it must have been something he did. My opinion is it worked and that truck is awsome
