Oh and in case anyone wants to hear what this engine sounds like with no muffler. I took this video. Pretty loud. But I noticed a loss of power. I've always been a paint and body guy and am just getting into the engine side. My theory was no muffler would give me more power due to the fact that it would be streight out of the engine. But I noticed a little loss in power am I tripping or would I need the muffler? It sounds pretty good though. Like I said I'm not claiming to be an engine guy at all that's why I'm asking for your advise. I just wanted to make it a true dual by cutting out the high-flow Y pipe and kick the pipes out infront of the rear tires. But I havn't done any welding yet due to I havn't decided about the muffler. Here is the link to the video

It's because you need back pressure more than likely. If I were you, I'd slap on a magnaflow muffler, maybe change to a hi flow cat, and possibly do an exhaust cutout(s)?

dude your making me wanna mod your truck...I agree with 98sst, seeing as though mopar/borla do not make an exhaust for the 3.7L, I would go with magnaflow...

I have always been a flowmaster guy for the sound but I have always heard Magnaflow was a better performance pipe due to the fact that flowmaster has baffles to produce a better sound but Magnaflow has a better flow pattern resulting in more hp

hmm my honest opinion.. Why would u have an 08 ram with a v6, its probably not going to be that much faster when you upgrade it, just take the money you were going to buy the upgrades for, trade in ur truck for one with a hemi.

Theres a difference between a Diesel Inline than a gas V6 you really cant compare because the displacement it alot more and the fact its a Turbo diesel. I believe theres no replacement for displacement. only way to get something like that fast you gotta turbo or supercharge it to get close and even then its not always the same and it generally cost more money per horsepower than it would be a v8 to get the same results bu if your going for something unique thats ok but just keep in mind its gonna cost you money and dont be dissapointed if it doesnt produce as much as you would think. I had a jeep grand cherokee inline 6 4 liter torque but no horsepower and i had after market header, tb spacer, K&N cold air intake, i ran synthetic,3 inch single exhaust with a after market exhaust and it still was slow lol and it cost me as much as did my dodge ram i have now and my ram runs damn good for a 4.7 I can run with the 06 ford f150 5.4 I take them off the line and the one i ran was fully modded except headers he had chip intake exhaust and i smoked him off the line only place where it was close was top end past 70 75 he got me but i didnt have my superchips flash paq tuner either but not bad for intake and exhaust

I just love my truck and don't want to get rid of it. I know there is no way on earth to make it faster than a Hemi without spending a ton and probably blowing yourself and the engine up. I just like the challenge of seeing just how fast I can make it. I'm just trying to do something different. Plus I've never kept a vehicle until it was paid off. I just want to see if I can do it with this one. I used to mod them until I was done and then trade and go on to the next project. But I just love this truck and unless the future Mrs talks me into buying a new boat like she's trying I'm keepin the 6.
