I tow a 16ft open car hauler with my Charger on it, winch, battery box, and drag race crap in the bed of the truck

I guesstimate the weight of the car and trailer to be about 6500lbs......

She pulls great, no real issues but I would be curious about how it would pull up hill....Florida is too flat for a real test

I might find out if I decide to tow her up to Gatty

I just looked into towing a fifth wheel with my 04 Laramie, all wheel drive, 1500, 20 inch wheels and 3.93 tranny. Also, tow package. I was told by RV dealer that you can find 26 to 29 foot fifth wheels under the 7550 lb. tow rating. Change the wheels to smaller or go with E rated tires and it goes up to 8550 LBS. Although he stopped short of recommending it, he said he had no problem towing above those ratings with an 04 because they have the same towing set up as the 07, 08, etc. The manufactures just got into a pissing contest over tow ratings and upped them all without canges. What is the heaviest 5th wheel tow anybody is doing. Don't care about the length, it is the weight that matters.
Thanks

Here is a bump. Also I needed to update from my previous post. I now pull a 32' fifth wheel. It gvw'd at 8800. Recently took it on 1400 mile excursion. Got bet mpg's with cruise set on 65. Overhead was averaging 7-8 depending on the hills.

Great looking truck, one question though. How do you have a 1/2 ton with an 8800lb GVWR?

The pickup is gvw'd at 8510 on the door sticker. The trailer sticker says gvw 8800. The pickup weight with wife, kids, dogs and all their goodies is about 7000-7100, leaving 14-1500 for payload. Dry hitch weight of the trailer is supposed to be 1250. In 2 weeks I'm taking the whole package over a scale to see what I really weigh. The pickup levels out with the trailer. I have firestone bags with 32 psi in the pic that restores the stock rake.

How easy was it to install the bags? I have a set but they have been sitting in my garage for quite some time now.

I'm pulling a 31' tag along, with a GVRW of 6100. My 10' Quad cab with the 4.7 and 3.56 rear is rated for 6300 and it pulls fine here in the mountains. You just have to shift down on the hills.

The Megacab has the same suspension as a heavy duty which allows it to hold more weight than a normal 1500. It is a pretty strong truck which makes it Ram tough!

Im about the thread jack haha

If you Hemi Megacabs need some added power to tow whatever it is I have an exhaust for you!! Send me a message if interested or a PM.

Its quite easy actually. Took me 1.5 hours, and I didn't take the wheels off. The hardest part is running the air line making sure it is out of harms way
