Default Removing door panels and switches

hey folks! ive got another how-to here for ya incase some people dont know how to removed the door panel itself or the switches in the door. some of the steps i did are not necessary but i did it for two reasons, 1 i did some more painting of some pieces and 2 for ease removal. most of these steps apply for both the front and rear panels, so here we go.
here we have the door panels front and back

start by removing the handle. its a t40 torx bit located in the hole

you dont have to remove the screw completely just enough to remove the handle itll help you later

remove the #3 screws from the panel, center on the rear, center and top on the front. also on the front panel there are two #2 screws on the bottom of the panel.

these door panels have got to be the easiest door panels i have ever removed. simply just lift straight up on the panel. and disconnect the wire harnesses.

here is a close up of the hook system that is used

removing the rear window switch cover is easy, just twist it then push it through

to remove the cover from the switch from cover just just bend the sides out far enough to allow the hooks to move past the holes

the fronts are a little more tricky. i broke a few of the clips on both peices on the front doors, thankfully it was like one per. push the piece through but do so carefully.

youll end up with somethin like this. to remove the cover from the switch board unscrew the 3 larger screws.

the paneless door. if for some reason you need to remove the plastic sheeting, BE CAREFUL with the black adheasive on the back of it. it will stick back down to ANYTHING, its very messy.

when reinstalling the panels just reverse all the steps above with the exception of this step here cause it makes life soo much easier. push the cup for the door lock out of the panel

to get the panel back on i put the bottom hooks in and bent the top of the panel towards me and fit in all the hooks. ran my hand around the edge to make sure all the hooks went in, youll know if they dont. all the screws in and handles. this is my end result with those pieces i removed painted

if there is anything anyone would like a how-to on, PM me and ill see what i can work together.

Nice write-up. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to replace the LEDs in the controls? I'd love to go from that nasty green to red on mine.

I have a 2001 that I need to remove the rear door panel on the quad cab. Would it be likely that the same "hook system" used on the one shown here would be on mine also? Just wondering before I attempt the removal and end up breaking something!!!! =8-)
