Default Quiet-ish exhaust

Ok, So I'm planning on building a DIY CAI (PVC and such) but I also want to get a new muffler. I'm not going to be racing around town, so I dont want a whole new system, I just want a little extra rumble from a new muffler. I had a 40 series Flowmaster on my 95 F-150 (with the 5.0) and I loved it, it was great back in high school but I'm afraid that might be a little too loud now. I plan on driving this truck for a while and don't want to spend a lot of money on something that might be viewed as a little too juvenile in the future.

Obviously (considering I'm posting in the 4.7L section I have a 2007 with a 4.7)

I considered getting a Flowmaster 50 series but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good sounding muffler that wont wake up the whole neighbor hood when I start up my truck.

side note I also just plan on dumping the pipe under the bed.

I dont want to be like my friend with a 5.9 and a Flowmaster super 44... that thing can raise the dead.

Try an Aero muffler. they are not too loud or Muflex. Muflex (magnaflow prebuilt) would be the easiest as it bolts right up...

Good suggestions. If budget is key I recommend the chambered line of mufflers from Summit Racing. Dynomax has a nice low rumble as well as Magnaflow.

I love the subtle sound of a Borla and they have their XR-1 and Turbo mufflers which are weld or clamp in.

I just ordered a Summit Turbo muffler and two exhaust clamps (yes I'm doing it the cheap way haha) $46.80 shipped to my house for a muffler and two clamps (one for the muffler and one for the tip) I couldn't pass up that price, even if it sucks.

But if it does suck, I'm blaming you chithead!

Dynomax Super Turbo are 3 chamber mufflers, as well as the summit and respective brands that offer Chambered mufflers. That will be a start.

Single 3" catback with the cat left on will sound fine. My friend has Magnaflow exhaust on his 4.7 and it is PERFECT. Very mellow, but a mild growl to let you know its not stock.
