I'm thinking the traditional dark blue tattoo ink. It's going to be more about finding an artist that can do it right. I've seen a pic of someone who had the same tat, but theirs was rubish in my opinion, looked like a mediocre sketch of the fossil. I want to get it reproduced accurately. That's the main reason I haven't done it yet.

The other reason is that I can't decide where I want it. Originally I wanted to get it on the the back of one of my shoulders but I don't usually like to have my shirt of so almost noone would ever see it. I have also thought about the inside of one of my forearms, or the back of one of my calfs. I don't think my forearm has enough space though and I figure on it being harder to get another teaching job with a tat there. The back of my calf has plenty of room and since I usually wear long pants when I teach it shouldn't be much of an issue.

That looks horrifically painful, but turned out pretty good. Not sure if it's all worth the pain though. I'll stick with 'NORMAL' tattoos for now.

The end results are interesting but having chunks of flesh ripped out.......I think I will pass! The risk of infection and pain? No thanks! I too will stick with ink!

Those pieces of skin looked like peelings from a piece of fruit. Pretty gross. I can't imagine the process they have to go through to dispose of that to meet all health and safety requirements.

I'm pretty sure they would just bag it and send it out with any other medical waste. All bound for the incinerator anyway.

If it were me I would want to keep it. No one ever seems keen on sending you home with body parts anymore.
