I'm now a Staff Sergeant who's contemplating a career change while I still have the energy for it.

My handle comes from my not always successful attempts at being a backyard mechanic and I'm a first time Ram owner and loving it!

Hey Mike, welcome aboard. Put your application in with Toronto Fire, we're always hiring. Nice change in career.

What!?! And move to the urban jungle!

Thanks for the offer NB but I'm a country boy at heart and I going to try and get back closer to those roots. Though I do like to visit TO, so much to see and do!

Default New guy chiming in/ Public Service background

I started out as a Security Policeman in the Air Force specializing in the law enforcement end rather than security. When I got out I worked construction and then dispatched at the local State Police barracks. From there I went to work for a radio company doing commercial radio installs and upfitting law enforcement/fire/ems vehicles. I was also working as a field technician with the Sheriff's dept. In that capacity I worked with the local drug task force, was part of an interstate drug interdiction team and alternate handler for the best drug dog i've ever met. During that time I switched day jobs, became an industrial electrician, rose to the rank of Chief in the county Emergency Services dept., and an industrial firefighter. I started my own company in '91, upfitting police cars and other emergency vehicles, and switched over to a local volunteer fire department, where i'm just an EMT/joe dirt the firefighter. Had enough of the rank structure, I just want to enjoy it. I'm recently retired from the industrial job, which leaves me more time for my other interests and my granddaughter.
I've driven almost exclusively dodges all my life, having owned numerous cars, 9 Ramchargers, 5 pickups, 2 A-100 vans, an A-100 pickup, an L-600 cabover truck, and a Durango. I just bought my fourth new one, a red 2011 ram 1500 sport. It's working out very well and I expect that it will be around for a while. That's about it in a large nutshell, questions?

Welcome to the forum. This is my first Dodge, and so far so good. Definitely the best looking pickup on the market today. Grandkids are great aren't they? We have a three year old grandson and his sister is going to join us in August.....can't wait.

My newest addition to our family is my son Jonathan who is 8mths old... and guys I swear he can get away with robbing a bank and I wouldnt have the heart to punish him "yet". Hi guys...I'm a retired Sgt. from Placer County Sheriffs Office in Auburn, California. 33 years full time, sworn and the last 8 years part time in the Super Court system and teaching Counter-Terror, certified by Dept. of Homeland Security and New Mexico Tech Univ.

Worked patrol, investigation, special ops, green dope, white dope, K-9s and flew the department helicopter for about 5 years. FTO/JTO/SAR and dive rescue as well. Two officer involved shootings.

That just about covers it.

Cheers,
Mike

Welcome AC/Mike!

I've never heard of a Super Court system!?! There's nothing super about any court system I've ever had any involvement in so I'm going to guess that your's refers to the size of the system?

Anyway, welcome to the Forumz, it's nice to see another white Ram in the neighbourhood!

He'll-0 everyone. I was a helicopter crew chief in the army. I crewed- wrenched on the AH-64A and if fielded the first AH-64D. I now am a Highway Mantenance Lead Lead Superviser, for Illinois Department of Transportation. Although we have had a few Dodges at work. I personally have never owned a Dodge till may 4th when I fell in love with this 2011 1500 CC Laramie cc 4x4. I have always been a Ford guy. But I do have to say this cab is huge and massive amounts of power. I just wish the salesman didn't lie to me about the truck having 392 grears. And I got a shitty paint job. Well it no the paint it the two-tone. The line is very bad and wavy. Their is a whole tone of minor fixable things wron with this thing. Never had that problem before. The lawyer will get things all straightened out. Or I'll be driving a new truck. Well I am shooting for. New truck same color but with the 392. It sitting in a lot 120 miles away. So everyone cross your fingers.

Hey guys, i'm a volunteer firefighter, volunteer & paid EMT, and also a 911 Dispatcher. I also went to college and I have an associate's degree in criminal justice. I work more often than not, but when i'm off I'm usually hanging around the firehouse waiting for "the big one" lol
