Default HID install question...need a solution

I have the auto headlight system.
Now the auto lamps don't work.
Did you have any issues with the auto lamp system? what was your solution to get them working again?
Any suggestions?

I have the 6000K; high, low and fogs
They are installed correctly.

Are you talking about daytime running lights? Normally DRL and HIDs dont mix well

No, not DRL....the auto headlamps where you turn your headlights on (round knob on the left)
Has.. A for auto, Off, driving/fog and on

others who have the auto lights haven't reported any problems and don't have a clue with mine

Put the factory lights back in. then turn them on and unplug them and plug the HID in all while they are on. It will "trick" the computer into thinking the HIDs are the original lights. Hope that helps...

Is this coming from experience or you know someone who has tried that?
May give that a try; but can't do it right now

The truck might not be sending enough power to the ballast, which isn't powering them on. The ballast are basically a little computer, and just like all modern day computers, lack of voltage will keep them from working
How do you check this?

I had to do this on my 06 GTO and they told me I would have to when I was going to get HIDs in the Ram. you might need a relay for it too though, call the place where you bought them and they should know what is going on.

Don't know why I'd need a relay?
I got the complete kits from a known vendor on another forum.
All the other '09 Ram owners with the auto headlamps do not have the same issue.

The only thing with my low kit was 2 wires were reversed, making them not work at first. Switched the wires (per the vendor) and they worked.

If you have tried solutions that have been posted and the vendor doesn't
have any idea whats wrong you may have a defective kit (reversed wires
might be a clue).

If its working for other Ram owners, maybe the assembly guy that put yours
together was a little fuzzy that day...

thanks,

I will be trying what LS Eater posted, but it will be in the next day or 2; too cold again, rain and snow coming today.

Hate the idea of taking the truck apart again.
