what are the differences? advantages and disadvantages? and companies you would recommend?

Depends on what you're looking to do. If you want more power in the low end for towing/dragging then you want long tube headers, shorty headers are usually direct OEM-size replacement that have better power on mid- to high- range for higher top speeds. Do you have a 4x4 or 2WD? If it's 4x4 it's a little harder to get, but you can get custom bent one from shops if you have to. But pacesetter puts out some great headers, as does Dynatech (full cat+ systems)

I have long tube headers on my 5.9 as well as Toms blue ram 1500. I personally enjoy them, I had them fabricated from a local shop. They improve torque greatly, and you can every pulse of the engine. It is awesome. Shorty is cheaper, I wouldn't know how the advantages are, seeing as I have never bought a pair.
