Damn, That is a sweet truck.

Now I don't know about the mating of the tranny to the 8.0L, but I do know that you're probably gonna have to tub the tranny channel in the cab for clearance and maybe notch the firewall as well as add a new tranny crossmember.

Well if they look the same start pulling them apart . Pull the V-10 truck down first . Remember don't hack or animalize anything (wiring harness , computer etc...). This is going to be transferred over to the other truck , so be careful . Do whatever mods you can do to the motor now while it's out . I would recam it and a little head work . Then when the motors ready pull the 5.2 truck in and pull it . When you have the motor out is now the time to do a real close comparison . See what's different and what needs to change . If you do this process , make sure you take pics (for yourself on where things go and how they came apart) of what you've done and post so everyone can see . Keep us in the loop . Tom

Thanks Tom, Thats the plan. I have to find time and a few extra hands. Still trying to figure out if I want to lift or drop that beast of a motor out. I Have to make a check list of all the things to take into account.

those v10s aren't the Viper v10s though...completley different

But...as far as the trannys...I am pretty sure it'll bolt right up. That V10 is nothing but a 360 with two extra cylinders. They even use the same rods, I believe, as the 360s.

As far as the swap...as I said, the engines are basically the same...so, the mounts should bolt up.

However, electronics wise, everything under the hood should probably be swapped...a lot easier than cutting splicing wires. Also...take pictures, lots and lots of pictures...and tag everything....and, most important of all....take your time.
