Default 35w HID vs 50w HID

So I'm planning on ordering HID lights for my truck as my first mod. I've been doing research but haven't quite decided what to get yet. One thing that has kind of gotten me stumped is 35w HID lights vs 50w HID lights. Obviously there is a power draw difference, but what are the pros and cons of each? Also, since my truck is an 08 and uses 1 H13 bulb I would need to use a bi-xenon bulb that can be used as a high or low, will a HID system work properly with the features of my truck? I.E. if I leave my headlights on when turning off the ignition they will stay on for a period of time and then auto shutoff. I really like the look and performance of HID but I want to make sure that I can change to them without losing all of the functionality I currently have. Thanks for your imput!

I have the BI-Xenon HIDs in mine and if I had to do it over again, I wouldnt have paid extra for it, you will never use them. As for the auto shutoff feature, that still applies.

What type of system do you have in your truck? 35w or 50w and what manufacturer? I've been looking at the 3b Specialties kits and the AAC ones. Searching for info on HID lights for my truck is acutally how I found this forum in the first place :P

Mine are ebay, but I regret getting them cause I had to rewire the sockets, add a relay and resistors (basically ripped the kit apart, was definetely nnot plug and play like the seller described) If you get some stick with 3b or AAC, there are tops when it comes to this stuff, and also plug and play(less headache) Good luck

I got a set 35w H13 HID's off of ebay. For me they were a complete plug and play. The only problem I had was the bulbs sat in the housings too loose, so I took the rubber gasket off the old lights and installed them with both gaskets. They are more than bright enough. 50w not worth the extra money. Also the BIzenon was worth it. auto off and auto lights work fine. Look cool when warming up.
