Default Need help identifying a part

Hello, I have a 2001 Ram 1500 st reg cab. magnum 3.9L smpi V6 with about 90k miles.

Just this week a very loud vibration and noise started happening every 12-15 seconds and lasting about 5-10 seconds for as long as I have the engine running. There has been no noticable change in performance along with the noise. If I had to describe the noise I would say that it sounds very much like an old door creaking open or plastic vibrating against plastic.

I was able to find the source of the noise/vibration by feel and sight, it is definitely coming from a casing under the passenger side of the dash, accessed from inside the cabin, however, looking through my owner's manual and my Haynes manual I have been unable to find any reference to what this part may be. I would like to know the name of this piece so that I can research the problem online and see if it's something simple that a layman can DIY.

Any help would be appreciated, I have taken photos of the part in question.
Thanks, D.

the part. unplugging that wire stops the problem.

close up.

it is the blend door acuator. to be 100% sure plug it back in and adjust the temp from hot to cold if the air temp changes it is still working and is on its way out and if it does not the it is time for a new one.
