Default question for those with the gen4 ram and the vararam air grabber

I just installed my air grabber 4 and noticed a couple of things:

first, there seems to be a lot of room under the air grabber, would the engine cover fit? anyone try it?

second, i put the shroud back on to see where I need to trim it and noticed that part of it sits raised up on the air grabber. there is about 1.5 inches where air can still be channeled into the filter part. it is still held down by 4 of the 6 push tabs so it is secured. anybody notice that and not trim it? almost seems like whether you trim the piece of not, the same amount of air is still channeled in. what are your thoughts?

Personally, I think they should have a flapper to exclude outside air in heavy rain or snow. I have the Hemi Under Glass version and removed the big ram air hoses, except at the track. They work great, except excluding rain and snow.
