Default Functional ram air hood

A company called Suncoast Automotive performance has a fully functional ram air hood that also has built in heat extraction. Has anyone heard of this company or how good their products are? It looks great on their website.

The ram air hood seems to be just a bit too high in price...and the air intake replacement pack is ridiculously priced...if the prices were lower, say $600 for the ram air hood and $150 for the intake, I would think about it...but thats if it fit my truck too...

do you mean this one:

I picked it up for $1500 canadian after tax and so far it's been great. Install was easy they had all the holes in the right place, just had to slot one to get fitment of the grille and shim the hood 1/8"; everything else was exactely like OEM. The nose is about 1/8" wider than the body of my truck, but not bad enough that you'd notice. All in all, i love the hood, looks sick, made a big difference on the mileage on my long drives: with MDS I was getting 17-18MPG.

On a side note; I am stopped almost regularly by people asking about the hood. At shows, people seem to not look at the other mods, but focus on the hood.

As for the ram air: it sits directly over my AirAid CAI and I had to notch the downflow chute to accomodate the larger filter. Also I had to take a small notch out of the CAI air dam, but nothing major. I'd estimate I have about 70% seal between the hood and CAI airbox. Pre-paint fitment took just over an hour to get it perfect, then 20 min after paint.

is it fiberglass or steel, in the pic of the underside it looks like fiberglass with a steel underframe.

It's fiberglass with the steel frame and all mounting points are imbedded to the frame.

I purchased one of Suncoast's hoods years ago for my '95 Chev Impala SS. A couple of fitment problems (not unexpected) to deal with but overall the quality is good. They are an established business and have been around a long time.

Another source if you want steel vs. fiberglass is Goodmark.
