Default FAB TECH Parts issue

I would like to find out if anyone has ever had a problem with there FAB TACH lift. I have a 06 CTD dually with a Fab Tech 4 inch lift in it that was professionally installed. The problem I had was ... the pitmen arm failed witch left me with no steering at all! So its bad enough to lose your steering but at 40 mph and I had my wife in the passenger seat and my 14 month old son in his car seat in the back.(They also never asked me if my family was ok as I told them they were in the truck with me) Luckily no one but the truck was hurt. The best part is I called Fab Tech today to tell them about this and they told sorry about my luck and they would be happy to SELL me a new pitman arm. Has this ever happened to anyone else and did there mgr stand behind the product they sold you? I will think twice about ever having a lifted truck again as I care more about mine and everyone else’s life on the road more then having a good looking truck. Thanks for your time please feel free to share your experience with me.

Pete

MODS: Please make this a sticky as I think its a safety issue and could save the next guy/girl’s life.

Now that's very unusual so see. It may have been a material defect but they should stand behind it in any event.

If not for the quality of the product, the lack of customer service and willingness to stand behind their products is enough to steer me away from their kits.

Wonder if you couldn't contact the BBB and report the parts defect and poor customer service . Maybe there should be a parts recall on Fab Tech pitman arms . Wonder how they would like that .

All that and I'm calling the D.O.T. just to make sure that there pitmen arm has a dot approval #.Its not the price to fix the truck that has me mad its that i could have killed my family myself and everyone else on the road at the time and they don't care.I don't want to make trouble for them but i sure don't want this to happen to anyone else.

Yeah, I've only seen similar failiures when I was doing destructive testing back in university, and the point of those was to find the exact failure point. I'm quite shocked they wouldn't stand behind it cuz a failure like that would be caused by metal fatigue or poor quality material, which shouldn't occur with a part that is designed to take those stresses. How long had the lift been on the truck?
