I don't own a daily driver, so I don't wash my trucks and cars often. My SS/T gets washed about twice a year. I rarely drive it and it sits in the garage all day, so it doesn't get dirty. I wash the dually about once per season. It's white and sits in the driveway all day.

I will admit on this forum that I have OCD. Only where it applies to my vehicles. I wash way too often and wax too often also. Oh well, I never seem to have a problem selling my used cars.

Agreed. When summer came around, it was a through wash once a week or so. And touch up with a cloth getting pollen off. Man it is worth it though.

Now... it's like once a month. With rain everyday, it is NOT worth it lol.

I hear you on the salt. I came from Michigan so I know exactly what you mean. People here are always telling me how hard living the Keys is on vehichles because they get a little salt spray from the ocean. I tell them they don't know what they're talking about. Ontill you have lived in a place where they salt the roads all winter, and brine the dirt roads all summer, and the average vehichle in january is glistening with road salt you have no idea what salt damage is about.

Mine used to freeze on my old car all the time. It had really tight door seals and slightest bit of frost would bind them. I would find whatever door I could pry open and force the others open from the inside by pulling the handle and throwing my shoulder into them. More than once the door trim was frozen so solid I tore it off.

I beg to differ...lol My grandfather's brand new motorcycle had all the chrome pit and peel off, and any not painted/chromed metal rusted within a year. My dad got the same motorcycle (pretty much) at the same time, and his is perfectly fine (we're not in the keys though)...

So...the keys is harsh on stuff...lol

ANd....I wash my truck whenever I can't see out of the windows (right now). With the paint like it is, I don't like to wash it, because it makes the top that much more obvious of how horrible it is...however, when the truck is dirty...it all kinda looks the same...lol

Once she's painted though...and since its black, at least every other week.

Twice a month here, and no car wash for me, thanks, all my handy work, lol. I don't wax as often as I used to when my vehicles were parked out in the elements much more often than this one is, but I'm OCD, also (hint - if you see bugs on my windshield/grille, you're just passing me en route to somewhere, lol). Can't live with mud all in the wheelwells and in south Louisiana, bug removal is mandatory! For one thing, you can't see out the windshield, and for the first few minutes of a rain, the wipers are useless, not to mention, the residue is not friendly to a vehicle's painted surfaces, learned that the hard way with the last one... Oh, and she's dusted and cleaned inside once a week! I think they just run better when they're clean.

Where does your dad live? I'm not saying the salt in the keys isen't harsh. I just don't belive it's anywhere close to the road salt up north. Plus most people don't ride motorcycles in the snow, when the salting is the worst.

You know what they put in car classified up north to indicate no rust? "Florida Car"
