Default Rear sliding window broken

My truck's rear sliding window latch is broken and I was wondering if anyone would happen to know how much it would cost to get fixed? And if the whole window assembly or just the latch would need to be replaced? Also, this doesn't have to do with the window, but is it alright to shift my automatic transmission down into first or second when i'm just riding around town and showing off my rumbly exhaust? lol! Thanks!

It's just the latch itself that's broken? The window opens/closes normally, just won't latch shut, or is a pain? Seems you should be able to pick up a replacement latch for just a few bucks. I think they have several universal ones available that fit different trucks, but if I'm not mistaken, Dorman makes something like that, and theirs are OE replacements. If your local auto store doesn't have something like that in their "help" (these products are made by Dorman) aisle, they could probably order one...

I'm not quite sure if it's just the latch, I think it is, but the guy who owned the truck before me wrapped some sort of heavy duty wire around it so it won't open. I'll have to check and see if its just the latch or not. And what about the transmission question?

I know we had a couple threads on here discussing a question similar to that. I was searching for it last night and couldn't find it, but that discussion has been had in here, not exactly the same question, I'm just trying to find it to hopefully give you some feedback on that.

Found the link, perhaps this will help shed some light, at least let you know what others have had to say about this: http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread....smission+shift
