Default Heated seat - mopar accessories

Anyone know if the heated seat kit 82210896AB from Mopar accessories will turn on with the remote start like with the factory option?

These have low, medium and high while the factory option is low and high. They also use a different switch which is not on the lower switch bank like factory option. I would rather buy the lower switch bank for a factory look.

I think the switches reset to off when you turn off the vehicle but I'm not sure.

My wife's Mitsu Endeavor works differently. If the switch is on when the vehicle is turned off, it will be on when you start it back up again.

on the 09's when you remote start the vehicle, the heat, rear defrost, heated mirrors, steering wheel heater and heated seats will come on if it's cold regardless of the current temperature settings and fan speed.

So I was wondering if the kit would work the same as the factory option..

Just FYI in case someone searches for this,

The mopar accessories heated seat kit will not turn on with the remote start. By default anyway... Where there's a will, there's a way.. I will have more will next year when it gets warmer outside. LOL

I'd like to add heated seats to my '01 Ram. So far I have only the dash switch and need the elements, wiring and control module. Anyone have parts for sale? Could aftermarket be made to work with factory switch? thanks

I was thinking of doing the same thing for my 09' Ram. I looked at the heated seat kit also but wasn't sure if it turned on with remote start. I would definately want the lower switch bank as well. I'm wondering if it would work if you installed the lower switch bank, wired it up and then had the dealer update your VIN on Chrysler.Dealerconnect.com to add the feature for your truck? They would probably need to flash the ECU in your truck also to enable it.

I'm just guessing that it might possibly work this way because this was basically the same procedure done when I installed the factory remote starter kit.

Let us know if you find anything out. I'm looking into it as well.

I'm sure it could but don't know how easy it would be.

I was thinking about scrapping the idea of the kit and buying the heater elements, control module and switch bank. I'm getting my first oil change on Friday. Will have some time to kill so I will get them to look up all parts needed. But I think this route may be more expensive then the kit and switch bank.
The upper and lower heater elements are already $190 per seat (probably $220 CDN) according to dodgeparts.com. Need to find out price of the control module, switch bank. I also want to check price on heated steering wheel.

Will post more info when I have it.

I have all ready looked into this. The mopar kit is actually an aftermarket kit - rebranded. None of the parts are OEM. You can get the lower switch bank, but there is no price on it yet AND it is all one assembly meaning you get the 'heated steering wheel' controls and the 'cooled seat' controls as well, which are not needed obviously. Also, wiring these in would be a complete headache. You are better off to just mount the switches in the dash or on the side of the seat if you don't want to look at them. Now i'll have to look back but it is possible to contact the company which makes these kits and purchase a different switch which will not reset when you turn the vehicle off. I haven't made it this far yet but they do offer them in their own kits.
