i have heard that over time just replacing coils can eventually wear the bushings down on other suspension pieces. spindles is the only component that will lower the vehicle without putting a strain on any other suspension pieces.

Spindles retain factory ride up front, but the added $200 cost on top of major $$$ for labor killed it for me.

I'm new to the forum and am excited about my new Ram. I have a 4x4 RC and want to drop it as well... I'm in the rockies and definately need four wheel drive up here but however love the sporty look of a drop and nice wheels. I know groundFrc makes a 2/4 drop for 4WD-all springs. I compared stock ride heights to a 2WD (from center of axle to bottom of fender on both). The rear axles on both have the same ride-height...and the front on my 4WD is about an inch or so higher. Stock front suspension has coilovers... I've been waiting on somebody to make a coil-over shock with adjustable ride height for the front... like the rear shocks on sport/dirt bikes. You would be able to reuse your front springs while upgrading your front shocks. An inch or so adjustment at this area could produce a signifigant 2" or more drop at the front without having to replace springs. Just seems like it would be a better package for the front suspension. I know they're out there..... would have to get correct lengths and mounting ends and have to look at universal applications........ Just wish some of the companys providing kits, that have all the resources, would do the work.

I have lowered mine and a friend of mine's 09 CC in my driveway and it really isn't that hard.

I am the friend he is talking about. i am not very mechanically inclined and i thought it was a pretty straight forward install. we also removed my stock bumpstops.

I see you are in VA, just drive that thing down to Chesapeake and we will "get-r-done". No charge. I truly enjoy tinkering and sharing any knowledge that, per chance, I may have. We might even be able to talk Rich (LANCE) into helping.

PM sent with number. I would like to see an R/T up close too. Hell, our local truck club has a couple of 09 Rams, but not an R/T.
