Default Mufflex Comparisons

Looking into the Mufflex Magnaflow set-up. I cannot decide between the 14" and the 18" dual system.... Any input? Any one get the 14" and wish they got the 18" and vise versa? Just curious.... I am thinking 14", but am concerned about drone in the cab. My father-in-law has a flomaster 40 series on his 09 CC Hemi and loves it... Anyone know how the Flowmaster will compare to either Magnaflows listed?

Thanks!!

I installed the mufflex 14 on mine. I've had flowmasters and gibson exhaust systems before but in my opinion the mufflex/magnaflow sounds the best. I like the 14. I think the 18 is probably to mellow for my taste. The 14 has just about the right cab tone. Kit was very easy to install probably took 20 minutes at the most.

I got the 18 and think its perfect. Any louder to me would be annoying on long drives. It is quiet enough to not be annoying when you want it to be, but you can definately hear it when you get on it.

I wish I knew someone that had the 14, 18 & 24 so I could hear them in person.. I was thinking the 24" cuz I can already hear my sport start up from my bedroom at the back of the house at 5am every morning.. lol

LOL I guess I'm getting old. don't really want it too loud.

As for the neighbors, I'm not worried about them.. They're use to me. I use to park the jeep in the back yard. Had a 5.7 SB with headers and dual exhaust, high flow cats and magnaflow "mufflers". That was loud and the houses rumbled at 5am when I drove between them to go to work.. HAHA. One of the neighbors kids told me her parents were glad I changed the engine/exhaust as it was really loud. It wasn't long before I stroked to 4.0 to 4.7L and put a 2.5" exhaust with flow master muffler.. and now she's loud again

And then the rice I was driving before the truck with 2.5" catback. Had a 1" hole before the muffler. I didn't fix it for 2 years cuz I liked the sound.

The 24" will probably not be worth the upgrade.. would need to hear it

I have the 18" and love it! There are times I wish it were louder.... That is why I am going to get an e-cutout. The 18" will give you low end grumble but I'm sure the 14" is a lot meaner.

I had a magnaflow on my '05 4.7l (can't remember which model) it was louder than the 18" on my '09 Hemi = the cutout ordered

I think you will love either one!

Talking

The 14 will definately wake up the neighbors. My neighbor said they know when I go somewhere they can hear me start my truck every time. The mufflex 14 is a wonderful thing.

I went with the 18". It seemed to be slightly quite when I first put it on, and was wishing I had gotten the 14". After a few drives though it really seemed to come alive and I really enjoy it. Any louder for me and I think it would be a little too loud in the cab, and I would feel like I may be annoying people around me (just my own opinion though).
