Default Sumitomo All Terrains?

Now, I've seen on here that everyone has their tire preferences. But my local Tire Kingdom is doing a Buy 2 Get 2 Free sale this weekend. When I called I told the guy my size and said that I wanted an all terrain tire that will also handle the snow and ice. He said that they have a set of Sumitomo All Terrain tires. I've never heard of this brand. Anyone know anything about them? Used them before?

I will be moving north to New England next month and while my tires aren't neccessarily bad right now the sale seems like a good deal. I currently ride on Cooper Discoverer H/T 26575R16's.

Reviews say "Outstanding wet traction and control". That's always a plus.

Maybe it is, maybe it ain't. At least with your BFG All-Terrain T/A KO's you know what you got... a good quality tire that is gonna last.

I thought about the same thing but can't afford to tie up the money right now; gotta pay for the move north still. If someone said they were great tires I would probably snatch them up.

From some of the reviews that I found online about Sumitomo, which were few and far between, one thing stood out through most people's comments; the sidewalls bubble and break, and not always after a while. Some people were saying that they bubbled after a couple days or weeks, and when they took the vehicle back to wherever they bought them, the manager would say you must have hit something and wouldn't do anything about it. Since I'll be nowhere near where I bought the tires, if this happened to me I would be SOL.

Another factor that went into my decision was I am in Florida, and stores down here don't carry winter/snow rated tires. I think I will keep my Coopers for now and buy quality when I get up there.

I thank you guys for your thoughts. I really appreciate this site and it's members.
