Default Rhino Lining

Alright well i had an idea and was wondering if i cold get some input, the bottom lips of my doors started to rust and bubble (like they all do) so i chipped it all away, sanded it down, and applied a rust inhibator. The original plan was to just repaint them the same color and forget it ever happen but i was thinking and thought about putting on the do it yourself rhino lining (hurculiner). i figured on going all the way up to the first body line throughout the whole door, length of the bed, and down the rocker panel. i was just wondering if anyone had some input on how it would look, also if i would run into any problems of any kind (such as maybe a clearance for the doors) any comments or ideas would be great!

Thanks

I think what you mean of course is a DIY bedliner. Rhino lining is a specific spray on liner and not the same a herculiner. Generally speaking the key to any of these products is good prep. If not it will peal off in time.

I've seen pics of trucks with rocker panels sprayed out. Give it a try and report back (with pics of course).

I don't think it will stop the rust . But It won't hurt to give it a different look instead of seeing a rusty body panel .

First, make sure you have covered all the rust areas with an inhibitor, like POR 15. I've seen trucks and jeeps with bed lining sprayed on the rocker panels. It looks a bit bumpy but it truly does work to protect the panels from dings and such.

It will NOT inhibit rust so if you just cover the rusty areas with a lining, it will continue to rust underneath.

Lots of guys back east do it. Helps with the road salt and slush, but MADDOG is right, you really gotta cure the cancer first before you cover it up.

Rust. The main problem with it is eats away from inside to the outside. Like was mentioned if shes not all gone and inhibiter isnt applied well it will come back. Ive never seen this material on any viehcle. The only stuff ive seen is the rocker guard spray on. That dosent look to bad painted over to match. It too is a bumpy appearence, good luck.

All of the rust was already taken care via sanding and appling inhibator, andi figured it would be a something kinda cheap to do cause the kit is only bout $100. and if i do follow thru ill deff be sure to post some pics, it will be in the next month or so
