I agree, it looks fantastic. The manufacturers think of stuff like this but it never goes into production for one simple reason. Cost.

I hate all the plastic personally but what you did there rocks. Do we require that plastic cover or can we drive without it. Does it serve a purpose maybe to keep water out of the power packs-spark plugs?

IMHO, it does absolutely nothing,
well .....other than Heat Soaking the intake runners on your intake manifold.

Mine is totally removed to keep my engine cooler and faster, especially at the track during the hot Summer months.
I'll put it back on for the Winter (maybe) and might even paint mine if I get bored after the track closes for the season next month.

Here's what it looks like underneath the shell...not pretty, but not hideous either ....I kinda like it.

If im not mistaken they started putting covers on the engines as a sound dampener.
