Wow that is a toss up ... Ford has better power, Chevy gets better fuel economy.
We would have probably went with a Ford. Man I hate saying that.

while we still raced the oval track, we had a chevy car & engine, ford stick tranny & rear end, front right spindle was off a 3/4 ton dodge
my '56 chevy 1/2 ton had a chevelle front clip, 350 cu. in. chevy engine with a street/strip cam, 350 tranny, ford rear end. when that truck idled, the people in the next vehicle over would smile because of the exhaust & the vibrations they felt. the '99 chevy 1/2 ton was all stock except for the exhaust & got good mileage
while i still actually worked for a living the company bought fords & dodges back in the '70s, chevys & dodges in the '80s & '90s, now they just use chevys, less time in the their repair shop. thats a good thing when you have 130,000 employees, with maybe 1/3 of them driving company vehicles

Well, Chevy's built like a Rock! And it takes big machines with hydraulics to make a rock move....so.... FORD it is.

I could never buy one but if I HAD to, I'd cheat a little and get an Aussie Ford "Ute" lol.
If USA Ford Truck, then I'd get a black Ford Bronco from around the mid 80s.

I would have to go Ford. My dad had a 04' F250 King Ranch Quad Cab 4x4 6.0L desiel. Absolutely loved that truck!

However, you will all be glad to know that he traded it for a 07' Dodge Ram 1500 QC 4x4 Hemi Big Horn Edition with Kicker VES system. Dad doesn't do anything small scale!
