98RAMdude is on a distinguished road
Default 98 1500 mountain road power loss

So yesterday me and the crew were heading out to go mudding with our trucks. We drove a great deal of miles up a mountain and the elevation was getting very high and the roads were steep. I began experiencing engine loss and the MIL light started flashing as well as the o/d off light kicked on as well. My temperature was normal and oil pressure and temp and level were fine. I took the truck down hill and the engine runs like s***. I can hear a nasty valve tap in the drivers backside of the engine. The engine shakes really really hard in low rpms pulling up hills and idle is super shakey. What are your thoughts? What the hell happened??? thanks everyone

What motor do you have? What codes are stored in the pcm? A broken valve spring or possibly a bent pushrod comes to mind among other things.
