Default Bug Juice Removal

Just got a Dodge Ram HemiSport last week. It's an 04 that has over 114k miles on it. I took the truck to the local detail shop and had it all shined up - inside and out. The manager noted that the front end was caked with bug juice and that it wasn't coming off. Does anyone here have any good ideas on how to remove the ugly mess without destroying my paint job (or having to sand down and repaint)?

Here's some pics to what I refer...

I have had good sucess with the bug remover pad. Like a sponge with a mesh surronding it to help with the bug removal. A good cleaner that wont hurt paint is also needed. I think i used bug remover paste from mothers.???????

Fabric softener sheets work awesome. Wet them and wash your front end with them and rinse. Works on light tar too.

Spray 9 works ok, but some of those baked on ones sometimes bake on to the paint and get past the clearcoat. Those are there for good.

Might want to try some polishing compound . Apply moderate pressure . Don't get real aggressive with it .

Thanks for the help.

My neighbor, who just moved to GA from FL, says these are lovebug juices and will not come off once they have been baked on. Apparently, these bugs were created by the government to control mosquitos (I guess they eat mosquitos). They have some wicked inners!! Looks like I'll be seeing a body shop soon.

Yes and they won't scratch. I use them on my chrome grille. Wet one first, it will suds up slightly and then lightly go over the bug areas. The guts come right off!

The wife's Frontier is just like that. A little laquer thinner on a rag will clean it off. I live in Florida, and those things are a trip. The female is always dragging a male around by the a**.
