Darn, I have a Mustang that I wanted to get an illuminated door sill replacement for. The factory one is just like those but no lighting. Can't really install these on my 97 Ram (even though I would love to) since the door sill is different from yours.

As for the door switch, be happy you guys still have them. In newer cars like my Mustang they don't even use door switches any more. The sensor is in the door latch. Probably harder to tie into. The done light is a great alternative, I'll have to remember that.

They will fit, all you have to do is cut your vinyl door sill to size and wire in as you see fit.

The blue is perfect.. going with a blue theme for the RAM since it's a dark gray..

I'd emailed Recon to see if I could get a custom amber set, or even the red, with an anodized black since it's avaliable in the superduty, but they said no, they won't do it. I was a little choked, cuz I couldn't see why they wouldn't do it. They said I could anodize them myself, but there's no way to pull them apart without having to do a whole bunch of drilling and fab work. The box even said the ram is ONLY avaliable in stainless blue

You sure you can't just pull those out and swap out the LEDs for different color bulbs? I read people doing it inside cars all the time. If you know the types of bulbs I'm sure you could order replacement bulbs in the color you like.
