Sound like a good plan you have, to me tho, thats to much fabrication and hassel for what I want. I think just under 500 for a kit thats plug and play with onboard everything isnt a bad deal at all. Plus it has a great warranty if anything goes bad. I noticed your also going for the guages in the cab, i thought about going that way just for the reason you said(if it leaks). But im pretty confident that with the automatic set up im looking at ill know if its leaking because the compressor will kick on all the time if the truck is sittin still with no change in load.

I agree that building it yourself is always cheaper. But for me and what I want for my truck. Thats not the street I want to go down. I want everything "behind the scenes" to act if it was stock and function as if it was stock. For example when I do a system in the truck only thing that will look out of place will be the big 5 channel amp and sub box behind the seats. At the same time it will be a custom box that looks like it was made to fit there and the amp will span almost the same length and width as the box so it will look very well back there also.

I kinda approach mods and building stuff for my rigs the same way, LSxFBODYgen3 (I know what your screen name means by the way ) and even if you don't build it yourself, you do want it looking good like it was made for the truck and it fits.

Good luck with your mods!

Haha your very understanding....and ya for the people who dont know what my sn means....its LSx as in the LS series GM engines....FBODY for the camaro/firebird line of cars were called fbody cars...and gen3 is just the generation of firebird I have.

Pretty much I have a 1991 Pontiac Firebird with a LS1 motor out of a 99 corvette in it. Its a fun car. Ive never personally ran it at the track but the guy who I got the motor from said it ran a 13 flat in the 87 firebird he had it in. I upgraded the motor and put a polished aluminum intake and a hot cam kit with ls6 valve springs in it. Obviously a good tune and all supporting bolt on's. I figure it would run a 12.5 now...oh yes and thats on performance street tires. Like I said its a fun car.

Haha the camaro's and firebirds were and still are great cars...

sweet SS btw...When I was 16(yes I was 16 in 96 lol) I really wanted one of those so bad...just couldnt afford the insurance

Honestly the new camaros are sweet but ive heard alot of complaints about interior features not working and comfortabilty sucks. Put those aside tho and the SS version will just about scare the crap outta ya in stock form

IMHO...If I was going to buy a camaro it would be a 2002 Camaro SS 35th Anniversary addition. Of course I would do a full suspension upgrade, brakes, motor bolt ons, and prolly a twin turbo set up, and so on. Still make it look decently stock but very very fun on the street and track. Those LS1 motors are just amazing.

...to wrap that all up fast tho...If I really had money I would just buy a brand new corvette ZR1 and call it a day. Saw one at a local car show and got to ride down the road with him and back...OMG, fast is an understatement. At $100,000 tho I would rather buy a decent house right now then another toy lol.
