Default My Dad's accident

Well I meant to put this on awhile ago.

Here is the scene. My dad was driving is Bobcat across the road, moving mopeds. He was almost halfway across the street when a car hit him. The speed limit is 25 mph. The car left 30 ft skid marks and tipped the bobcat over. My dad just had a broken collar bone. The lady driver was fine, and they took the kids in, but they were fine too. Do you think she was really doing 25 mph? She has not gotten a ticket yet either.

The reason she said she hit my dad was because her son said, "ooh look at that cool car!" and she turned and looked. That car was my moms Charger, which is abot 20 ft from the accident.

I hope your dad has a speedy recovery and is not in too much pain.

As for the lady, I'm no expert, but I would not think that a car traveling 25 would leave a 30ft. skid mark.

Glad your dad is ok! If I was your mom I would have beat that lady up!! Just careless and senseless! I hope she learned her lesson, this could have been worse!

I'm very happy to see your dad wasn't seriously injured.

She should be ticketed. It's pretty obvious that she was speeding.

Just because her kid distracted here does not mean she's innocent with respects to speeding and being non-attentive behind the wheel.

I just talked to my mom and she said the insurance company as of right now has it 25% her fault 75% my dads somehow, no ticket either. But they are still sorting through stuff. I really hope it goes to court. The girl admitted that she was distracted to my mom.
My dad is going twice a week to physical therapy, and is done next week if all better. but if not he has to get an MRI done. rotater cuff?
I really wish I lived closer cause then I would have been there to be a witness. She is whitetrash, went to HS with her and and her husband/bf whatever he is. They just keep popping out kids but are dumber than a box of rocks, go through jobs every month, and things are given to them from her parents.

Suggest to your parents to get a lawyer and don't accept anything from the insurance company before hand. If they accept money they accept partial responsibilty.

My wife was in a head on accident in '02. She was going through a light, had the green light, and a HS girl late for school tried to turn across traffic in front of my wife. She was trying to beat traffic and turned into the driver's side headlight of my wife's car, a '91 Civic at the time. No air bags. My wife broke (2) vertibrae in the thorasic area of her spine. Other girls' insurance company tried to blame my wife for 15% of the fault, which would have cost us money for doctor's bills. Got a lawyer and fought it. We didn't have to come out of pocket for anything for the lawyer, they didn't get money unless we did. Which after the doctor's bills wasn't much of anything, but at least that was paid for. Car was totaled because of the older model year. My wife had to go through therapy for over a year, which we ended up paying a little for. From time to time she still has issues with her back.

Best of luck man.
