Default How do I raise torsion bars?

I have a 99 ram and want to level it by raising the torsion bars. I was wondering if this was safe or will it damage my truck. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. Could you plese give instructions on how to do this? Thanks.

This is one way to level the truck. A kit consists of two re-keyed torsion bar mounts that allow you to twist the bars a bit more than stock to raise it.

If you don't have the tools or the expertise on how to do this, I strongly suggest you leave this to a qualified shop. Those bars are under a great deal of tension and if you do it wrong, you can damage your truck or worse, damage yourself and anyone near you.

Welcome to the forum. Take a few moments to revisit your User CP and add the details about your and your truck. It will come in handy when you have a question and will help us help you. Plus, you won't have to type the same info over and over again.

If you do this , make sure you have the front end realigned afterwards . It will effect camber , which will wear out your tires . Make sure you raise the front evenly . Drivers side has a tendency to sit lower then the passenger side . So get it level .
