Once you do the steps, turn the vehicle off (while the seat belt is fastened) and remove the key. That's the kicker that took me to figure it out.

I agree, I ran through the process 3 times, finally figured it out, but it does work, no more chime for me

I'm lost then, it worked for me on my 09 ram.

1. Unlock truck with key fob
2. Enter truck and close Door WITHOUT putting key in ignition
3. Fasten Seatbelt
4. Start truck and wait for seatbelt light to go out
5. un fasten and fasten 3 times with last action leaving belt fastened
6. Turn truck off and remove key
7. Chime will acknowledge you've done it right
8. You're done

Tried it 3 more times didn't work, mine doesn't have a key fob though it's a ST.
Guess I 'll have to let the dealer try next time I'm in the area.

I followed the instructions listed earlier by AirDog, In step 4, listed above, I did not start my truck, just turned key to the on position. That is the only difference I can see in these instructions from what I did. Dont know if it will matter, but just trying to eliminate variables....

Procedure worked on my late production '09, but I unbuckled and buckled the belt 4 times instead of 3.

Had some warranty work done to my truck today had to have the evaporator lower housing replaced.
While it was there I asked them (dealer) to also shut off the seat belt chime.
The guy in the service dept said he didn't know if they could do that or not so I explained to him it says how to do it in the owners manual and that I just couldn't get it to work.
He noted it on the work order but when I picked up my truck was told they couldn't get it to shut off. He said they even tried via the computer and it wouldn't shut off.
I dont know if he is/was just blowing smoke up my but if this is true at least I know it's not just me that was unable to shut it off. lol

Someone please explain to me how my 09 wont shut off the belt chime but everyone else on here seems to be able to ?????
My truck is just special right ? LOL LOL LOL
