Default Motor wrap

hey all i have a 97 1500 with a 5.2L. The motor wraps when 1st start up then goes away but when I drive i can hear it through different rpm bands. I tried lucas oil add I also tried marrvel mystery oil. I dont know if its a lifter or rocker arm make the noise. Any advice would be awesome thanks

If it's a rapping noise, I'd say piston slap or a bearing noise. Lifters and rockers are mroe likely to give you a tapping noise.

I was affaird of that...A need egine is like 1300 then to have it installed...this truck is going to be the death of me lol

should i stay with the 318 or should i go for the 360...My truck has a manual trans and no a/c would i need a computer for the 360 if i go that way

If I'm not mistaken, the PCM is the same and would only require reflashing with the 5.9 software.

I've done the swap between a 5.2 and a 5.9 and never had a problem . Just make sure you change your torque convertor . 5.9 is externally balanced .
