Default Bumper color?

Anyone know off the top of their head how to figure out what the color code for my bumper is?

I have a scratch in my back bumper (been there since I got it ) that I want to paint out. Trouble is my bumpers aren't painted the same color as the body so I don't know what the color is, and I don't see it anywhere on the window sticker. Anyone know how I can get that info? It's kind of a dark gery metalic is anyone happens to know what they call that color.

Check the stickers on the inside of the drivers door area and see if there is a paint code there. If not, I may be able to find out, but I'll need the last 8 of your VIN to pull up the build codes.

You can call any Dodge service department with your VIN# and they will give you your paint code.

Just PM me with the last 8 and I'll pull up the option codes from Chrysler.

The color code in the door is just for the body color, I need to figure out the bumper. I'll drop you a PM momentarily.

Based on Remerson's help I found that my bumper options are:

MBZS Dark Gray Rear Bumper w/Step Pads

(Thanks again Remerson)

On paintscratch.com I find a color called "Deep Gray (matte)" code ZSP.

What does everyone think? Is that probably it? Paintscrach.com says the matte colors listed for the Ram are bumper colors so that makes sence. The color looks right on the website, but I'm not one to eyeball a thing like that and trust it.

Paintscratch also indicated the first letter in Chrysler color codes is actaully a year code and they omit it so the color code for "Deep Gray (matte)" is actually _ZSP with the blank being the irrelevant year code letter. This makes me think that the BZS in my bumper code is the color code (the M seems to be a prefix used to indicate bumper as best I can tell). In this case I would drop the B and use the code ZS.

Still not quite the same as the code ZSP from paintscratch.com, and looking at it I wouldn't characterize the bumper at matte, I would still think it has clear coat. However, see my feelings above in regards to eyeballing things.

What do you all think.

No idea. I've found that I can match codes on paint but with my car, the Bright Silver Metallic never seems to match. Same with the Silver Steel color.

I think yer as close as you can get without actually going to a body shop and having them do a re-spray and blend.

You could check with the dealers parts department and see if they offer a touch up paint for your bumper with that code. The matte color you found seems to make sense considering you should clear coat over the top of it.
