Bear in mind most headers require periodic maintenaince Heather.

And are usually harder on your underhood wiring and hoses etc.,just from the extra heat generated.

Not trying to talk you out of them, just giving you a heads up

Have you considered the SRT manifolds from a Jeep, apparently they'll work too

True and I just haven't found a set I really like other than the long tubes and I can't throw $1700 into something like that right now. We'll see how happy I am after I put my mbrp exhaust on, and the throttle body. Waiting on Moe's to get back to me with a shipping quote on a vararam, but for now I have my k&n intake. I also want to do some work to the rear end this summer, thinking a detroit locker, so the money I'd spend on the headers could be better spent elsewhere lol.

I'm running JBA shorties in the Challenger Heather, they sound great, opened up the motor more and have been tassel free for 4 yrs.

I'll start a post for you Heather down in the performance area on the Jeep manifolds, but you'll have to take it from there.
I know a couple guys are running in the low to mid 12's using the stock SRT manifolds, but that's about all i know.
Do you do much towing.
Realistically on a dyno there might be 10-12 horsepower differance between the shorties and long tubes at higher rpm.
The shorties flow good up in the higher rpm ranges, but are known for losing a bit of bottem end torque compared to long tubes,so if you do any towing that's something to keep in mind.

Welcome Caper

I'm still in Jamaica for a few more days, and I'm sure my wife isn't happy that I'm on the forum, but c'est la vie.

The only Calgary-local hemi tuner that's half-way decent is the guys at Davenport but be prepared to fork over a second-born. The best guy we've found in Alberta is out of Stoney Plain at CCMR mobile dyno. Several guys from the ALX use him and he brings his dyno down south a few times a year or he has it setup in his shop with reasonable rates.

Heather, with the long tube headers, if you're not willing to drop $1700 on the ARH/Stainless Works then look at just the OBX headers and get them ceramic coated to reduce the under hood temps. IF you're looking for a bit more economy then the JBA shorties are a good price, but you'd have better value out of a set of used GCSRT8 headers, but I believe you need a custom midpipe, cats are optional then. IF you don't ever want to touch your headers again, regardless of type, then use the Mopar headers gasket and a set of Stage 8 locking header bolts, you'll never touch them again as they can't loosen up. Torque them, heat cycle the headers a few time, retorque and install the locking wings, done.
