Default Bottle or boost?

What power adder do you prefer? Nitrous, superchargers, or turbochargers. Feel free to say why you prefer one over the other. My personal choice? Superchargers! Nitrous is nice but I'd rather be blown!

I've had turbo cars . They are awesome . Never had a supercharged car yet . Now I have had spray before . Cheapest horsepower available . Pretty nice 100 hp - 350 hp at the push of a button .

I have a Supercharged Grand Prix and it is fun but you can do so much more with a turbo...

A turbocharger uses spent exhaust gases to drive the turbine that creates boost, whereas a supercharger is belt driven off the engine.

Yea, in like Remerson said, a turbo uses exhaust fumes to turn a turbine and compress the air, a supercharger uses a belt driven turbine to compress the air. With a turbo you have a lot more control and can easily change the amount of boost you are using, but there is a moment of turbo lag (depending on the size of the turbo and set up). With a supercharger you get power right away at the low end of your RPM range, but you don't have as much control over it. And nitrous, well, cheapest horsepower you can buy. That and if you aren't racing you don't have to use it.

I'm torn between turbo's and nitrous, kind of leaning towards turbos. Another question, why do many racers consider nitrous cheating when it's just another form of power adders?

I've always thought people who scream cheating are those that are too scared to race them because they aren't sure of how much nitrous you have, and want an excuse after they lose. As far as money goes, it isn't that expensive. I've seen guys waste more money on some rims and a carbon fiber hood because they weigh less. Although that's good to weigh less, the nitrous will get you a better 1/4 mile time.

Alot of the new turbo technology has virtually eliminated the turbo lag of the past... it has definitely come a long way the past couple of years.

I picked supercharger though because I love that sound...
