Default Multiple interior air heating problems?

Greetings along with my first post. I'm having multiple air heating problems with a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4, Crew cab / cab chassis, 6.7 Cummins Diesel, auto. transmission. Blower motor works intermittingly (off & on at times), along with it does not blow at windshield defrost vents just dash vents only. When blower does not work, I can tap blower motor and it will start to work, but still no defrost. I've read about issues with blower motor resistor, but this one seems to work on low / medium / high when it works. Blower motor sounds balanced and not in a bind. Could a bad blower motor resistor affect the defrost? I've tried electrical spray cleaner on connections and on blower motor resistor. I'm wondering if I have separate issues or one issue causing both problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Ron

Hey Ron, welcome to the Z. Hope on over to the newbie check in forum and introduce yourself so other members can give you a proper "howdy".

If I had to guess, I would say you have two separate issues. The blower motor, which is ridiculous easy to change out, and your mode door. I've heard some issues with the cheap plastic gears getting stuck. Do you hear any clicking when trying to move from defrost to dash to floor?
