Default Ride Height/Ground Clearance differences between Sport & Laramie?

Ride Height/Ground Clearance differences between 2010 1500 Sport & Laramie?

Can anyone advise if there are ride height/ground clearance differences between 4x4 crew Sport & the 4x4 crew Laramie?

I'm reading alot of posts on the forum concerning levelling kits and concerns with ride height as the 4th gen sit lower than the 3rd gen. I want the truck to sit around the height of the 3rd gen. Does one (Sport or Laramie) sit higher than the other?

Joe

Which truck are you looking at, 1500, 2500, or 3500?

The only differences I'm seeing in the service info is the TRX sits a bit lower. Ride height is a measurement of the front a-arm in relation to the center of the rear wheel, so I don't have actual ground clearance or height to a specific body reference numbers to give you.

Default height

Are the 3rd gen 1500's really higher? I have a 2010 sport, and my family is already complaining about the high step up! lol. My last truck was a Chevy, and my 4-year old could climb right in. She has a real struggle to get up into the new Ram by herself.

I am looking at my neibours 3rd gen and my 09 side by side out the window right now and I don't see any height difference at all.

As far as I know the laramie and sport are the same. It is a trim level difference and not a suspension diff.

I have a TRX and a buddy @ work has a Laramie. He always mentions that he thinks his rides taller but I write it off to the fact that I run stock 17's and he runs stock 20's. I got frustrated with him the other day and measured the front bumpers when they we sitting side by side in the parking lot and they were within 1/2" of each other (his was taller - now I 'm sure I'll never hear the end of it!). I haven't done the math on the tires, but I'd almost be willing to bet that ride height difference is in the tires and not the trim packages.
