Default 06' Mega Cab tire question

Hi guys,

I have an 06' Mega cab 1500 4x4, with stock 265x70xR17 tires and I am upgrading to 285x70xR17 Maxxis Buckshot Mudders and am concerned they wont fit on my rim and concerned about rubbing. The spec sheet for the tires say the rim width range is 8.5, not sure what the measurement for my stock rims are.

http://www.maxxis.com/AutomobileLigh...ot-Mudder.aspx

Any similar experiences or thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure your rims are 8" You can check yourself by taking a coathanger and using it as a caliper of sorts to measure the width of your rims at the bead while still on the truck. An 8" rim should measure out around 8 1/4 to 8 1/2".

they should fit fine with no problems at all. i had the stock wheels on my last 1500 and and went from 245/70/17 to 285/70/17 with no rubbing at all, and that was before i raised the front 2"

should fit just fine. You'll like the buckshots, just be sure and keep them rotated. I had a set on the last truck I had, if you don't keep an eye on them, they start to wear wrong and they will bounce you to death from about 15-40 mph. lol. but I guess that's every mud tire.
