Default Block heater sounds ?

Why can't I hear my block heater ? My wife's 2004 Montana Van sounds like a kettle about to boil ....

Hehe ... nah .... it's been like that from day one. My guess is the wattage combined with the location. Probably lower and deeper on the RAM and higher and closer to the surface on the Montana.

If I listen real close I can hear a slight noise when I plug in my 98'. Havent had an issue yet though. Wouldnt say its as loud as a kettle boiling but I can hear something

Not quite a kettle ... the sound just before it boils. Hard to explain.

ive been able to hear most of mine on previous vehicles.. 02 chev, 07 jeep srt8, 04 cummins. but I cant hear it on the new ram. must be in a different spot in the block thats harder to hear.
to check if its working, at night unplug it from the cord really quickly, you should see a blue spark as you unplug it.
if it arc's you know its working.
