Exclamation Trip computer

just a quick question for you guys my trip computer keeps giving me different readings on the DTE now i do realize the only accurate way is to subtract the total miles from the reading when you fill up. I just filled it and normally the DTE is around 600km and the last couple times it has only been 590 (boo hoo lol) but then this time it was 520 it is quite cold out so idk if that has anything to do with it. Im not overly concerned about gas mileage, just wondering if my computer might be acting up.

Many different influence mileage predictions, so I wouldn't be inclined to think you have a problem.

It's only a guide as to how your last tank of fuel burned . If you got excellent milage on your last tank , when you filled up this time the DTE would be high , speculating that your milage is gonna continue at that same rate . But if it doesn't , your gonna see your DTE drop quickly . Thats about the best way I can explain it to ya .

I think it changes based on your average mpg- so if you reset your mpg every time you fill up, like I do, it'll fluctuate for a bit. I don't even pay attention to the DTE until I'm down to about a quarter tank or so- seems to be more consistent when it gets down there.

thanks guys i was wondering if it had something to do with your avg mpg/Lper 100km....i mean ive been told the computer isnt very accurate however ive checked against km ive traveled and most times its only off by 1 to 2 km unless ive been driving like an idiot then obv mileage suffers.

Yeah I wouldn't be concerned about your DTE until you start getting low in fuel. If I have a full tank it will constantly jump up and down when i'm driving.
Also a good tip is to reset your computer everytime you fill your tank, that way your avg mpg (or L/km) will be more consistant and accurate. Mine is only off by 0.1 mpg at most.
