Default An open letter to Chrysler corp

let me first say, that if you see a really outstanding looking car
or truck on the road,90% of the time it is a chrysler product.

having said that, it is truly a shame that it is all eye candy.
what is under all that eye candy is garbage.

peeling paint,dashboards dangerously,disintegrating.

literally thousands of unhappy owners have complained
somehow chrysler, just does not give a damn.

now, chrysler is owned by us,meaning bailed out by our tax money.

in my humble opinion, when and if they ever repay the bailout
they should close their doors forever.

we will miss the eye candy, but not the un-resolved often dangerous
problems.

What perticular dangerous issues are you referring to? Like the dangerous issues that caused toyota to recall over 4 million gas pedals because of the chance of them sticking? Or Fords problems with stationary regeneration cycles for the newer Powerstrokes that caused a couple of houses to burn down? Perhaps VW's ignition coil failures in the Passat that have resulted on over 75 engine fires, some with injuries? I guarantee you that if you look, you won't find a single manufacturer that doesn't have "dangerous" issues.

Peeling paint...Can't say I have seen any issues with that since the 90's and if memory serves, most all manufacturers had that problem when the use of base coat/clear coat was first introduced. By the way, is that your truck on your avatar?

Since you are now part owner, perhaps you've already sent a copuy of this open letter to Chrysler and Fiat.

That sucks for some people, but all manufacturers have their issues...Although, my wife and I both bought our first Dodge products(my truck, and her 07 caliber), back in june, and have had no problems with them(aside from the dealership issue we had)...So, I hope our first DODGE product, is not the last one we buy...Im sure it wont be...

You won't find a single manufacturer out there that doesn't have issues at all with their paint , transmissions , interiors , etc... I user to work for GM and 99.9 % of the work that came through the doors was warranty work or recalls . I saw Gm warranty a paint job on a car that had over 100,00 miles on it and was 12 years old . Shortly there after any vehicle that came through the door with messed up clear coat could get their vehicle repainted with their $25.00 deductible . I now work on all makes and models , their all the same , same church just a different pue .

of course other manufacturers have issued recalls, and honored them.

if you have to stop fast and a passenger's hand hits the rams
cracking,cheap dashboard,lacerations occur,air bags fallout
cheap, chard's of whatever its made of flies everywhere.

dodge has never issued a recall for the bad paint,or the cheap
dashboards.
even if they ever do,the dash would be replaced with their oem
crap, and 2 years later it would fall apart again.

only idiots support crap like that

You mean the kind of idiots that don't wear seat belts so they have to brace for a crash with their hand? Just FYI, recalls are not meant for cosmetic issues. Recalls are orders for repair of problems that could cause a crash or injury of some sort. I know several people that had their out of warranty vehicles repainted. By the way, if you're so unhappy with your Ram, why do you still have it? Your dash is "cheap" but I wonder how well you've maintained it and under what conditions your truck sits in when it's not being driven. I would think a 13 year old dash just might be prone to cracking if it's not regularaly cleaned and treated. Oh yeah, lets not forget about the damage of UV rays beating down on it. Unless this truck was garaged except when it was being driven, I'd say that's to be expected. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that since your avatar shows what appears to be a camping setup of some sort and that you seem to be in the middle of an area with no shade in sight that the truck has been out of the garage quite a bit.

When you have computer problems do you blame the manufacturer whos name is on the case, or do you blame the vendors that supplied the electronics inside? Perhaps you've sent a scathing letter to Bill Gates on occassion as well as ranting on forums about the numerous issues with his products. My point being that not every component of any vehicle is made in-house. Most of the problems we see are from vendor product failure.

Enough for now. I'm going to go fire off an e-mail to the Oneida flatware company for making Rosie O'donnell a fat bitch.

Too bad this argument only holds water if you're complaining about a particular dealership. But since that was "nuff said" I guess we won't be getting a reply. Does the name Daimler-Chrysler mean anything to anyone?

AS an owner of over 30 Mopars over the past 37 years I would have to say my repeat business speaks for it's self. But let me give you a few examples 2003 Dodge caravn as a company car 207,000 miles aside from brakes, tires, and a few minor things the car nvere left me for dead, 2005 Dodge Charger SE company car 197,000 miles brakes , tierod ends, no problems and i must say after 25 years in company cars the best one yet. Sorry but i can't agree with your statement. The only paint issue i ever had was on my 1988 Jeep paint did fade but other than that how about 177,000 miles
