One thing I will say is that Chrysler Financial is a train wreck. My single most hated entity in corporate America. The don't give a damn about anything or anyone. all they want is their money every month. I wonder what happens when they finish servicing the loans they have on the books now. I hope everybody there gets fired

I won't argue that. They refused to work with anyone on payments (to the best of my knowledge) when the economy first went in the toilet. I swear they're just like Chase financial.

Recalls are orders for repair of problems that could cause a crash or injury of some sort. I know several people that had their out of warranty vehicles repainted. By the way, if you're so unhappy with your Ram, why do you still have it? Your dash is "cheap" but I wonder how well you've maintained it and under what conditions your truck sits in when it's not being driven. I would think a 13 year old dash just might be prone to cracking if it's not regularaly cleaned and treated. Oh yeah, lets not forget about the damage of UV rays beating down on it. Unless this truck was garaged except when it was being driven, I'd say that's to be expected. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that since your avatar shows what appears to be a camping setup of some sort and that you seem to be in the middle of an area with no shade in sight that the truck has been out of the garage quite a bit.

When you have computer problems do you blame the manufacturer whos name is on the case, or do you blame the vendors that supplied the electronics inside? Perhaps you've sent a scathing letter to Bill Gates on occassion as well as ranting on forums about the numerous issues with his products. My point being that not every component of any vehicle is made in-house. Most of the problems we see are from vendor product failure.

Enough for now. I'm going to go fire off an e-mail to the Oneida flatware company for making Rosie O'donnell a fat bitch.
fyi, i bought this truck 3 years ago,6 months before i got it, the
guy i got it from had the ,junk dashboard replaced by chrysler
for near $600.00,totally ridiculous price for junk.
i bought a dash cover,it has been covered for 3 years, now the dash
has a major crack on the passengers side, from front to back
where i park it is of no concern, and should not be.
i have a 93 geo tracker, been in the desert since day 1,not even
scuffed-no cracks, hmmmmmm wonder why.
so from what you say,i should wrap the ram 1500 in a cocoon,
never drive it on a rough bumpy road, so the junk dash doesnt
ever have to be under any stress, come on man get real.
i like the ram because of the way it looks, like all the other unhappy
buyers,,if i had known how cheaply made the interior was,i would have not bought it,furthermore,to get any kind of money for it
if i sell it,i would have to replace the junk dash.which i wont do.
sooooooo anyone dumb enough, even chrysler, that defends this
junk,is just plain naive.

besides this was an open letter to CHRYSLER CORP,who i might add is strangely quiet

I don't know about this. All manufacturers have some quality and/or design problems.

For instance, I've had 4 Fords...three blew up on me and one tried to kill me. And the dealer service on two of them sucked.

I'm not sayin' Dodge is any better...they aren't. But it's not just a blast on Dodge.

Gotta respect the training and quality of the Mercedes products and service. Totally different set of values compared to US manufacturers. That does not mean the US firms, which are rapidly becoming international firms, can't do the same thing.

I think they are where they are now for a multitude of reasons and poor quality is just one of them.

If this is an open letter to Chrysler perhaps you should Send Chrysler an email. Of course they are "strangely quiet" this is not their website. Idiot.

if i was you i would just modify the tracker to carry the camper you have and sell the dodge. oh wait it cant because the tracker only has 18 hp under the hood... and where is geo these days ????? gone , why cause people realized they were junk. yeah thier dashboards lasted for ever but the rest of it was junk.

ive had my dodge back to the dealer for a few nuisence problem , nothing major. the dealer i bought it from is known for having a bad rap in the service department. but i must say everytime i've been there its been a unbelievably painless exsperiance and they fix what was wrong no questions asked.

I will tell everyone I know that my Ram has been the best vehicle I have driven, its been in the shop twice for anything other then an oil change. I can confidently say that unless Chrysler closes its doors for good, and none of its brands survive, I will drive them for the rest of my life. BTW, I have made this decision at the young age of 19.
you are either blind, or dont read the posts on this dodge ram forum.
i guess if i thought my Chevrolet was falling apart this is where i should come to bitch.

Clint,

Looking at your profile and previous posts you're driving a 14 year old truck that has "about 146,000 miles". Are you in as good of shape now as you were 14 years and 146,000 miles ago?

As far as your.....

I'd say for a 14 year old 146,000 mile truck thats pretty tough.

So if you just posted up today pissed off at the world cause you're not getting any then you need to be over at Oprah.com or somthing.

If you want to actually do something about your problem rather than just bitch like an old maid then ask for help. Remember that this is an enthusiasts forum. Don't come on here telling us we're full of it because of what we drive. That ain't going to win any friends.
