Default 2011 1500 4wd wobble with levelling kit

Hello everyone.

Lately I am experiencing an issue. When truck is in 4wd, there is an odd wobble in the steering wheel up to certain speeds (around 30 mph). When it is in 2wd, no wobble at all. The wobble only happens under acceleration.

Background on truck- it is levelled out on 2.8" bilstein 5100's and 285/60-20 duratracs.

Could it be an angle issue and something not agreeing with the levelling kit on the front?

Thanks guys and gals!

I will bet it is that your CV axles are too short. Lowering the Bilsteins a setting, or getting custom CV axles should fix it, but the latter is a bit of an extreme option. It seems like some guys have this problem with levels and others don't, I have no idea why though. Maybe they level for looks and never use 4wd

Would that explain the 4wd vs 2wd though?

According to others who had this problem, yes. Only when the front axleshafts are powered does it occur. Hopefully somebody with personal experience will chime in here.

I have the same Bilsteins and same tires. But mine are set at 2.1. No wobble here. I do get a slight vibration around 120kph. But otherwise, its all good. I agree w Thunderhorse. Lower setting first to see if it goes away. If not that, then maybe check ball joints.

Yea its a weird chain of events... only in 4wd and under acceleration does it happen. Then at 30mph it tapers off to nothing...

Anyone else with the bilstein 5100 levelling shocks set to 2.8" have this issue?

some duratracs are hard to balance. 3 things i would do

1 adjust your shocks to stock level and see if that eliminates the problem
2 check the inside of the wheels and see if some ice orr mud is stuck on the inside of the wheel
3 i would check have the duratracks balance checked.
